We booked for afternoon tea. Really lovely atmosphere. The food was good, and the service was spot on.

My first time at this restaurant and it was an excellent experience. The ambience was so comfortable yet pleasantly stimulating. The afternoon tea was nice and a straightforward procedure. The choices of tea were vast and different - the Oolong Milk Tea was my favourite, the green tea wasn't remarkable but it was standard. I think the fillings of the sandwiches were quite unique however, the bread was slightly oxidised and borderline stale. I would most definitely returning multiple times as the price per person is excellent for the standard of service. Excellent!

Great tiny little place. Trust me when I say tiny. Size of a one double and one single room. (Haven’t seen the terrace though) However lovely staff even though it seemed that they didn’t receive our reservation memo which I though was a bit strange and somewhat unorganised (maybe glitch in the system), they still gave us a table and treated us superb. The food was beautiful especially the chicken with sweet cabbage, that’s quite unusual taste for me yet absolutely beautiful. I was not impressed with the truffle chips, expected more there. Cocktails were nice, classics. And oysters with caviar very tasty. Overall satisfaction achieved although I’d expect to be more fed for the amount spent.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Hyde Restaurant and Bar, and it’s clear that they have invested significantly in creating a beautiful and traditional ambiance, which promises a great dining experience. The setting is truly opulent, making it a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy a meal in an elegant atmosphere. However, it seems there were a few areas in which the meal experience could have been improved. The fixed menu initially set high expectations, but I felt that the dishes didn’t quite meet those standards. While the steak was a valiant attempt at delivering a hearty dish, I found it to be a little on the tough side. It was a bit of a surprise, especially when compared to the high quality expected at such a fine establishment. The team was understanding and took the steak back for adjustments, showing great effort in customer service, although it didn’t quite meet the mark on the second try. The bread, unfortunately, didn’t quite match the standard either, as it seemed a little stale, which was disappointing compared to the otherwise excellent atmosphere and service. While the meal didn’t quite live up to my expectations, it’s important to note that the staff were friendly and attentive, doing their best to accommodate all diners. The restaurant’s atmosphere remains a stand-out feature, and I appreciate their efforts to create a traditional and welcoming dining environment. In conclusion, while my experience may have fallen short in some areas, The Hyde Restaurant and Bar is a place that clearly has potential, especially with its inviting ambiance and dedicated service. It’s always exciting to see restaurants striving to improve, and I’m hopeful that with a bit of refinement, they will become an even stronger culinary destination in the future.

We stopped in for Afternoon Tea. The family loved it and the food/tea was delicious.

The afternoon tea was fantastic - great service, good quality food, lovely tea selection, and nice desserts. Really liked the matcha scones and the macarons!
